What is HyreGarage for?

HyreGarage helps you work out what has actually failed on your garage door, whether repair or replacement makes sense, what moves the price, and how to judge a garage door company. It is written for the homeowner standing in the garage, not for the trade.

What does HyreGarage not do?

No garage door work. We are not a garage door company. We do not perform, supervise or warrant the work.
No ratings. No company on this site is rated, ranked or endorsed. We have nothing solid to base that on yet.
No fake averages. We do not publish an average price or a fixed lifespan as if it were a fact about your door.
No spring DIY. We never publish do-it-yourself steps for spring or cable work. Those parts hold enough force to injure you.

How is HyreGarage paid?

We expect to earn money by introducing homeowners to garage door companies. You are never charged. Where that relationship applies, the page says so.

The risk, stated plainly. A site paid for introductions could start telling everyone to buy. The test is whether it ever says something that costs it business. Ours does. Our research found that the widely quoted 268 percent return on a new garage door is a survey estimate, with no home sale measured in it.

We also found that garage door R-value claims are not worked out the same way by every maker. Neither finding helps us sell anything.

What standards does the content meet?

Primary sources first. Technical and safety statements cite the door makers association, federal safety agencies and the model codes, with the reference on the page.
Dated, not evergreen. Technical facts carry the date we last checked them. Wind-load rules and local permit rules change on their own schedules.
Gaps stay visible. Unverified stays labeled unverified. A list of companies we have not checked would be worth less than an honest empty space.
No paid placement. A company cannot pay to change what we say about springs, safety equipment, or repair versus replacement.

Is HyreGarage a garage door company?

No. We do not repair, replace or install garage doors, springs or openers, and we do not supervise or warrant anyone who does. HyreGarage is an independent information site that is building a way to connect homeowners with garage door companies.

How does HyreGarage make money?

We expect to be paid by garage door companies for introducing homeowners to them. You are never charged. That creates a risk that the money shapes the advice, so our editorial policy keeps the two apart and we publish no rankings of companies.

Why do you not publish an average garage door price?

Because an average fits no real door. A single-layer steel door on a standard opening and an insulated, wind-rated door with low-headroom hardware are different products with different labor. We show you how a quote is built instead, so you can read the one in front of you.
